Processes
As a technical yarn finisher Gruschwitz high-performance technical threads Sewing threads – precisely tailored to your application and further processing. Whether strength, uniformity, handling, surface properties or colour fidelity: We understand finishing as a targeted combination of technology modules so that in the end a product is created that meets the highest demands in terms of function and workmanship.
This is what Gruschwitz stands for as a competent technology partner: We master all finishing steps in a modular, precise and industrial quality. Depending on the requirements, the appropriate modules are used individually or optimally matched to each other – with reproducible parameters, stable series production capability and a consistent focus on performance. This is how your tailor-made solution is created – from the first sample to series production.
Mechanical design
Twisting
In the twisting process, either a single thread (yarn) is twisted up or several individual threads are twisted together to form a thread. This increases the strength of the yarn and increases uniformity. By using different yarns, this process can also be used to achieve colour and texture effects.
Plying
In the specialist process, two or more yarns are spooled together in parallel without twisting, with the number of yarns determining the desired thread thickness. By using different yarn materials, hybrid yarns can also be produced.
Braiding
In the braiding process, at least three braided threads are crossed alternately to form a braid. Both untwisted yarns and twisted threads can be used as braiding threads. In the case of round braids, a distinction is made between simple, tubular braids and core-sheath braids, in which the mechanical properties can be specifically adjusted.
Equipment & Coating
Functionalize
Functionalization of twists means, for example, equipping, fixing or stretching. By coating with a finishing agent, the yarn properties (glide, adhesion, water repellency) are precisely adjusted to the application. When fixing, the tendency of the thread to curl is minimised by temperature treatment. Stretching allows the molecules in the fiber to reorient themselves, giving the thread greater strength.
Dyeing
During the dyeing process, the thread or braided cord is given the desired colour for the final application. In order to ensure identical color loss even across several production batches, color templates are defined and archived.
Packaging & Presentation
Winding
During the winding process, the thread is brought into a "presentation" suitable for further processing such as weaving, knitting or sewing. The weight, shape and size of the winding package are individually adjusted. If necessary, the coils can be brought to the same running length or coated with a finishing agent (e.g. oil, wax,...).
